Ottawa ON KA Z, Canada ML Devco Full time

About the Role

The Westmount is a boutique apartment building designed for long-term residents who value quality, comfort, and attentive service. We are seeking a Resident Services Coordinator to serve as the on-site face of the building and a key point of support for residents and building operations.

This is a hands-on, service-focused role that blends resident assistance, light building upkeep, and coordination with our third-party property management team. While all formal property management, leasing, and contractor work is handled externally, this role ensures the building feels responsive, well cared for, and professionally run on a day-to-day basis.

Key Responsibilities

Resident Support & Experience

  • Act as the primary on-site presence and friendly point of contact for residents
  • Assist with day-to-day resident needs, such as:
  • Helping residents with groceries, packages, or moving small items
  • Assisting with access for deliveries, movers, or service providers
  • Providing general building information
  • Assisting with leasing and property management team
  • Respond to resident questions and concerns in a calm, professional, and service-oriented manner
  • Help create a welcoming, community-oriented atmosphere within the building

Building Care & Light Operational Support

  • Perform light, non-specialized tasks to maintain the appearance and functionality of the building, including:
  • Clearing walkways, entrances, and exits during weather events until contractors arrive
  • Resetting common areas after use (furniture alignment, minor tidying, wiping surfaces)
  • Replacing light bulbs, batteries in common-area devices, and signage updates
  • Reporting wear-and-tear issues before they become larger problems
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs of common areas to proactively identify issues

Seasonal & Exterior Support

  • Assist with seasonal building needs such as:
  • Light landscaping support (watering planters, minor garden upkeep, litter removal)
  • Setting out or bringing in outdoor furniture
  • Assisting with waste and recycling room organization
  • Preparing entrances and amenity areas for seasonal changes or special events

Cleaning & Presentation

  • Perform ad hoc cleaning of common areas as needed (e.g., entryways, elevators, amenity spaces)
  • Coordinate with third-party cleaning contractors and report any deficiencies
  • Ensure common areas remain clean, safe, and presentable throughout the day

Property Management & Maintenance Coordination

  • Serve as the on-site liaison with the third-party property management team
  • Log, track, and follow up on maintenance requests to ensure timely resolution
  • Coordinate access for approved contractors and service providers
  • Escalate urgent or safety-related issues promptly

Note: This role does not perform major repairs, technical maintenance, or contractor-level work (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural repairs). All such work is handled by licensed professionals coordinated through the property management team.

What We're Looking For

  • A service-minded, dependable, and proactive individual
  • Comfortable with a role that combines resident interaction with hands-on, practical tasks
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Able to work independently and manage priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership over the building's condition
  • Experience in residential buildings, hospitality, facilities support, or concierge-style roles is an asset

Physical & Practical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry light to moderate items (packages, supplies, seasonal equipment)
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors year-round
  • Basic comfort using hand tools for minor tasks

Why Join The Westmount

  • Be part of a boutique, design-forward building in one of Ottawa's most desirable neighbourhoods
  • Stable schedule
  • A visible, valued role where strong service makes a real difference
  • Opportunity to build long-term relationships with residents
  • A role that offers hands-on exposure to property management and leasing, with opportunities to grow into expanded responsibilities as the company's portfolio evolves.

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
