Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and organized Assistant Security Supervisor to support the day-to-day operations of our security team. This role involves overseeing both field security guards and monitoring station staff, ensuring all shifts are adequately covered, and supporting the development and performance of team members. Availability to work Sunday to Thursday, 40-44 hours per week. Shift time 1:30pm-10:00pm

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, be comfortable using new technologies (including AI-based software), and be able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Supervision:
  • Oversee daily activities of security guards in the field and staff in the monitoring/control room.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to protocols and standards.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and inspections to ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Scheduling & Coordination:
  • Create, manage, and adjust weekly work schedules to ensure full coverage.
  • Monitor attendance and manage shift changes or emergency absences.
  • Coach and mentor team members to improve performance and knowledge.
  • Assist in onboarding and training of new security staff.
  • Utilize security systems and software, including AI-based platforms, for monitoring and reporting.
  • Generate incident reports and communicate findings to management.
  • Work closely with the Security Supervisor to implement security protocols and address any concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments when needed.
  • Implement and maintain surveillance systems, including CCTV, to enhance security measures.
  • Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, or alarms, providing first aid or CPR as necessary.
  • Manage conflict situations effectively and professionally, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies as needed for investigations or incidents requiring external assistance.
  • Train and mentor security staff on best practices in loss prevention, surveillance techniques, and emergency response protocols.
  • Prepare detailed reports on incidents, observations, and activities for management review.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a security role, preferably with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of security protocols and monitoring systems.
  • Comfortable using or learning new technology, including AI tools.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with surveillance systems (CCTV) and loss prevention strategies is essential.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Availability to work Sunday to Thursday, 35–40 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in security training or supervision (e.g., First Aid, CPR, Use of Force).
  • Experience with scheduling software or workforce management tools.
  • Bilingual/multilingual is an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.60-$25.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
