What you'll be doing

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically adept Business Analyst to join our Client Authentication Team. You will be at the forefront of translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements that drive the delivery of secure, seamless, and user-focused authentication solutions across digital platforms. Your ability to bridge the gap between business and technical stakeholders will be key in shaping client identity experiences and supporting the bank's authentication transformation.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

  • Stakeholder management: Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to gather, analyze, and document detailed business and functional requirements related to client authentication and digital identity.
  • Requirement gathering: Lead requirements elicitation sessions (workshops, interviews, JAD sessions) with internal and external stakeholders. Translate complex business needs into well-defined user stories, use cases, journeys, and acceptance criteria for technology teams.
  • Collaboration: Partner with the team's product owners to ensure business requirements are properly understood and implemented.
  • Comprehensive Delivery Lifecycle Support: Support the end-to-end delivery lifecycle from requirements through testing, defect triage, and implementation support.
  • Advancing Authentication Framework: Contribute to the evolution of authentication frameworks, including biometric login, multifactor authentication (MFA), and risk-based access.
  • Business Analyst Experience in Digital and Security Projects: Previous experience as a Business Analyst in digital or security-related projects, ideally within financial services.
  • Expertise in Authentication and Access Management: Strong understanding of authentication concepts, identity lifecycle, and access management workflows. Proven ability to elicit and write high-quality business and functional requirements with technical accuracy.
  • Exceptional Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.

Who you are:

  • You put our clients first. You engage with purpose to find the right solutions. You go the extra mile, because it's the right thing to do.
  • You're goal oriented. You're motivated by accomplishing your goals and delivering your best to make a difference.
  • You're passionate about people. You find meaning in relationships and surround yourself with a diverse network of partners. You connect with others through respect and authenticity.
  • You love to learn. You're passionate about growing your knowledge. You have a strong sense of curiosity.
  • You're a certified professional. You have current accreditation and good standing Mutual Funds License (Canadian Securities Course or Investment Funds in Canada).
  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.
