Corporate Services - Business and Financial Planning
Status: (1) Contract Full - Time position - up to 12 months
Salary Range: $79, $99,972 per annum plus comprehensive benefits
Hiring Range: $79, $89,974.80 per annum plus comprehensive benefits

Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Reporting to the Supervisor, the Financial Analyst will provide advice and support that enables the FSU team to provide outstanding financial services to the client group.
Responsibilities:
- Works closely with program project managers on cash flow inputs and ensures data integrity in the cash flow model
- Performs cash flow data analysis to produce meaningful management reporting
- Automation of cash flow data and project reporting by using advanced tools such as Power BI and Power Query etc.
- Reviews project expenditures and conduct required accounting activities (accruals, account reconciliations, journal entries etc.) to ensure the full representations of project financials for each reporting period
- Monitors project spending and provide financial advice to ensure projects are in a good financial position.
- Works with clients to address project-related matters timely and in compliance with Financial control by-law, including project closeout, budget reduction and redeployment.
- Maintain a good documentation for all the project transactions and works with external auditors for auditing responses.
- Collaborates with Senior Financial Analyst to support program clients
- Performs special financial reporting/analytical projects
- Other duties as assigned
What the role requires:
- Finance/Accounting degree
- CPA/CGA/CMA/ACCA accounting designation preferred
- 3 years experience in a financial environment
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered
Skills/Abilities:
- Sound business acumen and critical mindset
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias
- Strong computer technical skills (specifically MS Office-Excel, Word, PeopleSoft Financials, Power BI, Power Query)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, planning and organizational skills
- Great customer relationship skills

- Knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations and standards as well as municipal issues, services and processes considered

In this role, you'll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve.
