Job Overview

We are seeking a detail oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsibile for providing a high level of financial, analytical, administrative, and clerical services information (i.e, processing and monitoring the processing of invoices; the suppliers are paid within established time limits).

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage capital expenditures and fixed asset accounting, including capital requests, project closures, and monthly depreciation in SYSPRO.
  • Perform month-end closing activities, ensuring accurate reconciliations across AP, AR, and Cash modules, and prepare key journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Oversee daily AP operations, review and approve AP journals, process EFT and cheque payments, and resolve vendor inquiries.
  • Maintain AR processes, including posting cash receipts, monitoring open accounts, and following up on overdue payments.
  • Ensure vendor and customer master data integrity in compliance with company governance policies.
  • Prepare and submit regular financial reports and analysis as required.
  • Support quarterly and year-end closings, external audits, and ad hoc projects.
  • Assist the Controller with day-to-day accounting operations and provide backup support as needed.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Experience working with an ERP system is preferred.
  • 3 Years pf experiencein accounting related activities is required.
  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with a solid understanding of corporate finance principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
