We're looking for an Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our team on-site at our Toronto-area office in Concord (near the intersection of Highway 7 and Jane Street). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on accounting work, improving processes, and supporting business owners with clear, accurate financial insights. You'll be part of a growing firm that values precision, teamwork, and professional growth.

What You'll Be Doing

Day-to-Day Accounting Operations

  • Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries
  • Perform daily cash postings and transaction imports; assist with bank reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate, organized financial records and supporting documentation

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Execute month-end close: balance-sheet reconciliations (bank, AR, AP, accruals, intercompany) and adjusting entries
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (ASPE)
  • Manage CRA compliance, including HST filings, payroll remittances, and annual slips (T4, T5, etc.)
  • Liaise with auditors as required

Internal Controls & Systems

  • Improve accounting workflows, documentation, and approval processes
  • Support integration and optimization of accounting systems for accuracy and efficiency

Cash Flow & Analysis

  • Prepare and maintain cash-flow forecasts
  • Deliver monthly management reports and variance analyses
  • Support budgeting and forecasting

What We're Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience: 2–5 years of full-cycle accounting experience
  • Software: Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel (advanced functions)
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of ASPE, HST, and payroll regulations
  • Skills: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
