Veterinary Receptionist
Location: Victoria, BC

Central Victoria Animal Hospital is looking for a full-time Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an organized, motivated, and empathetic individual to join us in a very important support role for the entire hospital. In this role, you will help our clients and their pets feel welcomed and cared for while coordinating between them and members of the medical team.

Previous experience in a veterinary clinic is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will have administrative experience, possess good computer skills (or a willingness to learn), a love of pets and their people, and a positive attitude. Familiarity with cash handling would be considered an asset, as well as excellent customer service skills; you will be the first point of contact for our clients walking through the door and the last point of contact as they leave.

This position is full-time with a rotating schedule. Shifts for this role are 8 hours and may include daytime, evening and weekend work (including some holidays). We are open 7 days per week.

  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for our patients and pet parents
  • Ability to answer a multi-line phone system and track and schedule appointments effectively
  • Placing outbound calls to pet parents for follow-up and future appointment bookings
  • Respond and manage email correspondence; clients, referring veterinarians & internal office messages
  • Admitting and discharging pet patients
  • Invoicing/billing; creating estimates, obtaining pet owner confirmation, and processing payments
  • General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of reception area, pet holding areas, and common areas
  • Willingness to learn more regarding veterinary services, updated medical office procedures and assisting the Veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments
  • Previous customer service or front desk experience in hospitality is an asset
  • No experience with animals, no problem, so long as you love pets

Compensation: $17.85 to $25.00 per hour. The hourly rate range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
