Duties

  • Prepare and assemble sushi dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring presentation meets quality standards
  • Handle all aspects of food preparation, including slicing, rolling, and plating sushi items
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Assist in the development of new sushi recipes and menu items in collaboration with the culinary team
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients to preserve freshness and prevent contamination
  • Serve guests with professionalism, providing excellent customer service during meal service
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines related to food handling, cooking, and sanitation practices

Skills

  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and serving within a restaurant or food industry setting
  • Strong knowledge of sushi making techniques, including knife skills and ingredient pairing
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail in meal presentation and quality control
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Good communication skills for effective teamwork and guest interaction
  • Previous kitchen or restaurant experience preferred but not required for entry-level candidates with a passion for Japanese cuisine
