Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety standards. As a Sushi Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dishes to our customers while maintaining an efficient kitchen environment.

Duties

  • Prepare and present sushi dishes according to restaurant standards, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Handle food safely and adhere to all health regulations and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area.
  • Assist in menu development by suggesting new dishes or improvements to existing offerings.
  • Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling practices.
  • Familiarity with various types of sushi, ingredients, and presentation styles.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a passion for creating visually appealing dishes.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred, along with strong teamwork skills.
