Job Description:

Location: Hybrid

Client Data Solutions (CDSS) in Group & Wealth Operations supports both Group Benefit and Group Retirement Services clients with all their plan member data needs. 

We specialize in:

  • Inbound bulk data files and automated file feeds from our clients into Sun Life (e.g. demographic data loads, GB HRIS feeds, claims history files, GRS demographic and contribution feeds)

  • Outbound data files from Sun Life to our clients (e.g. payroll deduction files and custom reports)

The team is currently growing our scope of services, building new partnerships with internal teams to streamline our processes and better service our clients. We are looking for new team members with a drive to further strengthen this industry-leading team and contribute to our continued growth and success.

A major business objective is to change management; optimize and improve the way we process and deliver data services to all lines of business. The evolution of Client Data Solutions (CDSS) is a fundamental shift in the way we view data as a valuable corporate asset. With that main objective in mind, the strategy is to build a service-oriented, center of excellence model, which focuses on client (internal and external) service, recognizing the importance of all stakeholders and a centralized data management strategy. Key drivers to this strategy are the resources and staffing model we put in place to execute and implement our plan. The focus is on resources who possess a combination of business knowledge and strong communication and teamwork skills, a passion for service excellence, and a positive learning-oriented attitude to production support inquiries.

What will you do?

Workflow Coordination (85%)

  • Manage & maintain multiple central team inbox's which support production and project work assignments for the Group Benefit team

  • Triage, prioritize and assign work items based on team members skill set

  • Support an environment that promotes team member accountability and autonomy

  • Support multiple time tracking initiatives through work assignments

  • Develop business knowledge related to CDSS to effectively conduct job responsibilities

  • Assist team members in meeting specified Turn Around Time (TAT) standards (outstanding task daily team e-mail reminder, vacation preparation outstanding task team member e-mail reminder)

  • Engage in the continuous improvement of your team and processes

  • Influence the team direction through participation in strategic initiatives

Best practices and team development (15%)

  • Work with the Best Practice Consultant and Manager on quality and service standard initiatives

  • Manage or participate in different projects as they arise

What do you need to succeed?

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Post-secondary degree or 1-3 years of related work experience

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Strong collaboration and negotiation skills

  • Ability to work and demonstrate cooperation in a team environment

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Exceptional organizational skillsAs this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
