Walk of Grace Residential Services Inc. is a family-owned and operated organization with over 50 years of combined experience supporting children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities and dual diagnosis. We currently operate ten (10) programs, including the largest adult day program in the east end of Ottawa, located at our state-of-the-art campus at 641 Sladen Road.

We are excited to welcome new team members to our Horizons and Star Day Program streams, where participants engage in community outings, volunteering, job readiness, cooking classes, arts and crafts, music, sensory rooms, sports, life-skills development, and more.

As a Day Program Facilitator, you will work directly with participants to help build communication, daily living, social, emotional, and adaptive skills through fun, engaging, and meaningful activities. You will work closely with the Day Program Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator to ensure daily schedules, curriculum, and activities run smoothly.

Daily Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting youth and adults with developmental disabilities and dual diagnosis in both group and 1:1 settings
  • Running the daily schedule, curriculum, and programmed activities
  • Assisting with community outings (museums, volunteering, recreational programs, job coaching, shopping, etc.)
  • Facilitating life-skills lessons such as cooking, baking, budgeting, cleaning, and adaptive living
  • Supporting participants in arts and crafts, board games, music, physical activities, sensory room engagement, and educational learning
  • Assisting with individualized support plans and clinical data collection
  • Writing daily notes, documentation, and reports
  • Collaborating with families, guardians, SCS workers, schools, and other professionals as needed
  • Implementing positive behaviour support strategies under BCBA guidance
  • De-escalating crisis situations in a professional and supportive manner
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, safe program environment
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, communication, and social skills
  • Supporting and mentoring participants with empathy, patience, and dignity

Job Types:

Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday: 8:00am–4:00pm
  • Saturday Program: 8:00am–3:30pm (rotational or optional depending on position)
  • No overnights; no evening shifts unless for special events.
