**POSITION PURPOSE**:
The qualified facilitator will be responsible for all art programming, design, assessment, and documentation of art programs for residents as assigned. Position includes the supervision of students and volunteers, as well as other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Director of Resident Operations and Compliance.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The Program Facilitator is responsible for the assessment of residents for the purpose of planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating a recreation / activities / therapeutic recreation program in accordance with MOHLTC standards and other applicable legislations. This position includes the supervision of students on placement and volunteers, as well as other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Director of Operations.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation training from a recognized University/College.
- Affiliation with a Professional Organization (NCTRC, Therapeutic Recreation Ontario or Activity Professionals Ontario or equivalent).
- 2 years of experience in Long-term Care with the elderly population and experience working with vulnerable populations and families.
- 1-2 years of documented experience working with dementia and mental health challenges
- Strong leadership skills with an advanced knowledge of the aging process and dementia. Commitment to a multi-disciplinary team and a person-centered approach working with residents, clients, staff, families, and volunteers.
- Excellent writing and problem-solving skills along with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

**The following will be considered assets**:

- Well-developed computer skills: experience in electronic charting including Point Click Care and RAI-MDS
- Experience in Palliative Care

**JOB TYPE**:Full Time

**SALARY LEVEL**: $25.05 TO $28.31 As Per Collective Agreement

**WORK LOCATION**: The Glebe Centre, 77 Monk Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1S 5S7.

Pay: $25.05-$28.31 per hour
