We have one (1) temporary full-time position for maternity leave coverage located in Calgary.

Start date is December 15, 2025, end date is December 26, 2026.

Working days Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 16:30, flexibility may be required. Total hours of work per week are 37.5.

Program Summary

CAES assists job-seekers to overcome barriers, understand workplace culture and fill the personnel needs of inclusive employers in Calgary.

CAES works with each client to identify their ideal work setting and employment support needs. Job interviews and employment placement are facilitated in accordance with the client's goals. We then provide ongoing follow-up support to both the client and the employer in order to strengthen their skills and working relationship as well as ensure job satisfaction and retention.

Job Summary

This position's function is to facilitate job search and employment for adults with disabilities. Liaising with the business community in order to develop job opportunities and employer partnerships is a primary function. Employer engagement and community education is a significant, ongoing element of this position, as is caseload management.

This position requires equal amounts of autonomous work to engage with jobseekers with disabilities and employers, as well as extensive teamwork with a diverse group of colleagues. Ideal candidates will be creative advocates who are passionate about community engagement, motivated to work collaboratively, and open and receptive to continuous growth.

Key Responsibilities to:

Client

  • Support clients to develop an understanding of their unique characteristics in relation to career choices
  • Support clients to identify interests, values, skills, and strengths, aptitudes and lifestyle factors in relation to work culture
  • Support clients to mitigate barriers, using existing supports and community resources/options
  • Build client capacity with regard to job search strategies and interview skills
  • Support clients with career planning, job search, and labour market participation
  • Facilitate traditional job placement, and/or job carving
  • Facilitate job shadows and/or paid work experience to increase client capacity
  • Build, and maintain strong, positive employer relationships to support inclusion
  • Support employers with inclusive recruitment and onboarding strategies
  • Advocate for employees, and employers, with regards to human rights and legislative requirements for persons with disabilities
  • Advocate to ensure full understanding of work requirements, as well as, rights and privileges
  • Provide employee, and employer with strategies and resources to meet goals and expectations
  • Facilitate informed decision making throughout service continuum

Caseload Management

  • Facilitate a minimum of 16 client-directed, sustainable job placements, per year
  • Acquire job interviews for CAES Candidates and provide interview support
  • Develop working partnerships with business and other human services organizations
  • Conduct service reviews with Program Management, where required
  • Work in collaboration with colleagues to facilitate employment outcomes
  • Coach and design workplace accommodations to support job retention
  • Verbal and written communications with clients, team members and support networks

Agency/Program

  • Ensure program content and delivery processes conform to a high ethical standard, exemplary standards of practice, and the Mission, Vision and Mandate of the Agency
  • Promote program and job seekers to employers to secure appropriate job matches
  • Prepare and co-facilitate Diversity Presentations for business
  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate program workshops and related activities
  • Case management and adherence to specific funder requirements
  • Perform related administrative tasks: file maintenance, information distribution, team meetings, strategic planning, etc.
  • Perform related administrative tasks: expense claims, timesheets, etc.
  • Adhere and contribute to the Program Operations Manual
  • Promote inclusion – participate in promoting successes via CAES website
  • Participate on a CASS committee
  • Seek out training and development opportunities to develop areas of opportunities
  • Participate in local conferences to stay up to date in industry leading initiatives and best practices

  • Model and demonstrate CASS values in all interactions with clients, staff, and community
  • Demonstrate respect and collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders

Communication

This position engages in extensive internal and external interactions and communications. A high degree of professionalism and sensitivity is required. Participation in the following communication mechanisms is required:

  • Client intake/informational meetings
  • Regular CAES team meetings – minute taking, stat reporting, etc.
  • Scheduled CASS office organizational meetings
  • Program planning meetings
  • Development and contribution of content for the CAES and CASS social media platforms
  • Understanding of and ability to communicate the Business case for hiring a person with a disability

Required Education

  • A degree or diploma in the Human Services sector or a related field, (or commensurate experience) is required

Other Required Skills

  • A vehicle and valid driver's license are required as travel throughout the city and surrounding area is required
