Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, ensuring that our manufacturing operations are supported with the necessary materials and services. This position requires expertise in vendor management, sourcing, and negotiation to optimize our supply chain and purchasing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the procurement process from sourcing to purchasing, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Manage vendor relationships, conducting regular evaluations to ensure compliance with quality standards and pricing agreements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast material requirements using MRP and ERP systems.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost-effective procurement solutions.
  • Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement in the supply chain.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor contracts for reporting and auditing purposes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP and other ERP systems relevant to procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in vendor management, negotiation tactics, and pricing strategies.
  • Familiarity with MRP systems and their application in supply chain management.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex data sets for informed decision-making.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and validate procurement requests and documentation.
  • Create and maintain records in SharePoint Online (SPO).
  • Generate and manage Financial Requisitions (FRs) in DRMIS.
  • Prepare LPOs, validate quotes, and process related invoices.
  • Maintain procurement files, trackers, and ensure compliance.
  • Create vendor profiles and manage procurement communications.
  • Run reports and support audits.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with movement and receipt of goods.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 years (within last 10 years) of relevant procurement experience.
  • Experience in preparing complex procurement documents (SOWs, RFPs, FRs) for federal processes.
  • Knowledge of federal procurement tools and policies (e.g., DRMIS, DOA, SPO).
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.

Assets:

  • Certifications or specialized education in procurement or public administration.
  • Additional federal procurement experience.
  • Bilingualism (English required, French an asset).
  • Familiarity with DND or similar government environments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.01-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
