Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating housewares products with enthusiasm and professionalism
  • Conduct product demonstrations and explain features to enhance customer understanding and encourage sales
  • Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
  • Upsell complementary products to maximize sales opportunities while providing honest recommendations
  • Maintain an organized and visually appealing sales floor through effective merchandising and stocking practices
  • Manage inventory levels by receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and conducting regular stock checks
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining phone etiquette when assisting remotely or over the phone
  • Assist with product demos to educate customers about new or featured items, creating an engaging shopping experience
  • Support team supervision by mentoring new staff members and supervising daily operations when needed
  • Ensure compliance with store policies, safety procedures, and cleanliness standards at all times

Experience

  • Proven experience working in retail, preferably within a grocery store or home goods environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency with POS systems, cash handling, and basic retail math calculations
  • Supervising experience is highly desirable; ability to lead by example and support team members effectively
  • Strong communication skills in English to serve our customer needs
  • Experience with merchandising, product demos, upselling techniques, and stock management
  • Knowledge of grocery store operations or familiarity with retail sales environments is a plus
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent phone etiquette skills for professional remote assistance or customer inquiries
