Your Opportunity:Reporting to the Manager, Virtual Opioid Dependency Program, and with the support of the Clinical Supervisor, the Mental Health Therapist will offer harm reduction focused, mental health and addiction services to VODP clients across the province. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will work within an interdisciplinary environment to provide harm reduction focused, culturally appropriate assessment, treatment, crisis intervention, education and referral services for opioid dependent clients and their families. You practice from a strength-based perspective utilizing the modalities of motivational intervening and solution-focused therapy. The successful applicant is an assertive, proactive individual with a strong foundation in mental health resolution, critical thinking and decision-making skills. You have experience in group facilitation, community networking and providing educational opportunities for staff.This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. By applying on this posting, if you are the successful candidate, you agree to and will become an employee of Recovery Alberta.Description: As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment. Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of Trauma Informed Care, working knowledge of Motivational Interviewing. 3 years’ experience working with individuals with Addictions and Mental Health issues. 3 years’ experience in counselling. Experience working in an Opioid Agonist Treatment Program.
