Working closely with RFM's Executive Director (ED) and Market Manager (MM), the CMC will oversee digital, print, and community-based initiatives that promote the regular farmers' market season as well as special events.

The position combines on-site presence with flexible remote work. The CMC will attend most regular farmers' markets (Wednesdays and Saturdays from May to October, and Saturdays only from November to April). Hours average ~15 hours per week, year-round, with more hours required leading up to special events (eg, Tomato Festival). Non-market hours are worked on a flexible schedule from a home office.

  • Familiarize yourself with RFM vendors and their unique product offerings to support accurate, engaging, and authentic communications.
  • Seek out new opportunities for marketing, partnerships, and community promotion to expand RFM's reach.

Manage RFM's digital presence across all platforms:

-Develop original organic content that highlights vendor stories, seasonal products, and community initiatives (e.g., Nutrition Coupon Program), including photography, editing, copywriting, posting, and monitoring.

-Plan, schedule, and monitor paid digital campaigns (Meta, Google Ads, etc.) for seasonal highlights and special events.

-Ensure RFM's Google Business Profile and online event listings are accurate and up to date.

-Monitor analytics for social media, website, and newsletters, preparing reports as needed for evaluation and grant reporting.

-Maintain and update the RFM website to ensure all content is current.

-Write, design, and distribute customer e-newsletters with the goal of growing subscriber base.

  • Coordinate design and production of all print collateral (e.g., signage, posters, postcards, merchandise, sponsorship packages, internal documents) ensuring it is in line with RFM branding.
  • Prepare and implement signage plans for each farmers' market location to ensure accessibility and ease of navigation for customers.
  • Prepare and distribute press releases in advance of special events and for major announcements.
  • Liaise with media contacts to coordinate interviews with RFM leadership or vendors as needed.
  • Track annual marketing expenses in collaboration with the ED, ensuring the budget is followed and ROI is maximized.
  • Track partnerships and sponsorship deliverables, ensuring commitments are fulfilled and documented.

Serve as the first point of contact for general inquiries (phone, email, online), providing timely and professional responses.

  • Provide customer service at the RFM Information Booth during market days, answering questions, processing transactions, and directing customers.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for RFM at markets, special events, and community engagements.
  • Assist the MM with occasional setup, takedown, and on-site logistics as needed.
  • Follow all RFM health and safety protocols.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
