Marketing Intern / Market Research Intern ( Co-op)

About the Role

We're seeking a Marketing Intern / Market Research Intern who is passionate about data, marketing strategy, and consumer insights.

You'll work behind the scenes to research local markets, track competitor activity, analyze demographic trends, and support marketing campaigns that fuel our fundraising growth.

This role is perfect for someone who loves digging for information, spotting patterns, and turning research into meaningful action.

Responsibilities

Market Research & Analysis

  • Research local communities, retail locations, and high-traffic areas across Canada
  • Collect and analyze demographic data to support campaign planning
  • Track competitors, charity campaigns, and industry trends
  • Evaluate sales/fundraising opportunities in new regions

Marketing Support

  • Assist in planning and executing marketing campaigns
  • Conduct research for social media content, outreach strategies, and engagement ideas
  • Track campaign performance metrics and help create basic dashboards
  • Support development of marketing materials and pitch decks
  • Assist with email marketing research (contact lists for charities, partners, events, etc.)

Data & Administrative Support

  • Maintain organized research databases, spreadsheets, and location logs
  • Prepare summaries, reports, and slide decks based on findings
  • Provide general support to the Marketing & Growth team when needed

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Data Analytics, Market Research, or a related field
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel (filters, formulas, tables)
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, stay organized, and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable using online tools, directories, and research platforms
  • Strong interest in marketing strategy, consumer behaviour, or nonprofit campaigns
  • Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn
