Position Summary

The Communications and Donor Relations Specialist is responsible for enhancing the organization's public presence and achieving fundraising success through cultivating, stewarding, and engaging a diverse network of donors and partners to boost financial support for the Foundation's priorities. The incumbent will serve as the primary storyteller, strategically developing and delivering bold, compelling messaging to ensure the Foundation's mission and impact are communicated effectively.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • creating compelling content across all channels including website, social media, and newsletters to raise awareness and support
  • managing the integrated marketing strategy and serving as the primary storyteller to promote the Foundation's mission and impact
  • drafting key publications like Annual Impact Reports and donor reports
  • sourcing impact stories through consultation with Division Principals, staff and students
  • coordinating and implementing friendraising and fundraising strategies
  • facilitating donations, partnerships, and sponsorships
  • designing and executing exceptional donor stewardship and recognition practices
  • planning and providing operational support for all fundraising events
  • recruiting, training, and managing volunteers to enhance capacity and outreach
  • ensuring accurate and timely data entry of donor information into the database
  • handling day-to-day operations of the Foundation including phone, email and mail inquiries
  • preparing financial documents such as Remittance Vouchers and expense reports
  • supporting Board Meeting preparation including creation of materials

Education/Qualifications

  • diploma in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, or Nonprofit Management
  • minimum of three years related experience
  • digital engagement experience, including managing website content (CMS), optimizing social media strategy/analytics, and executing email marketing campaigns
  • skilled in drafting donor materials and structuring effective appeals, including tracking response rates
  • proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate volunteers
  • practical experience planning and coordinating fundraising and community events
  • experience tracking and generating reports in CRM (Raiser's Edge) is an asset
    excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills

Rate of Pay

$ $55.42 per hour
