We are currently looking for an experienced automotive Payroll Administrator/Accounting Assistant.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Under the supervision of the Controller, responsible to champion the payroll and administrative functions, and assist the department with accounting deliverables
  • Prepare and process payroll timely; ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements
  • Process new employees in the system, transfers, terminations, leaves of absence
  • Performing general accounting functions (cheques, A/R, A/P)
  • Analyze, reconcile accounts for the monthly and annual closing; identify, correct payroll and accounting inaccuracies and imbalances
  • Reconcile, submit all government, warranty and insurance remittances
  • Handle ad hoc reporting requests

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of two (2) years of Payroll and Accounting experience within a retail automotive dealership with a thorough knowledge of payroll and accounting practices & procedures
  • University Degree or College Diploma in Accounting, Finance and/or Payroll
  • PCP preferred or in progress
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll is an asset
  • Working knowledge of ERA and/or CDK is an asset
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and analytical skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with a positive attitude and ability to multitask
