**Responsibilities include**:
- Oversee all aspects of property accounting, including general ledger, month-end/year-end close, financial reporting and variance analysis.
- Oversee preparation and delivery of internal monthly reporting packages for both residential and commercial portfolio.
- Clearly present and explain financial results to senior leadership and executives.
- Coordinate with operations teams to ensure financial data is accurate and complete.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process for the residential and commercial portfolio.
- Commercial lease administration including CAM reconciliations
- Oversee cash management, including rent collection, vendor payments, and bank reconciliations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the property accounting team
- Liaise with external auditors, provide necessary documentation to complete audits and compilations
- Recommend process improvements and contribute to Yardi system enhancements
- Performing other ad-hoc duties as required
**Experience and Skills**:
- University degree or college diploma in Accounting or related field
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Experience in property accounting highly preferred
- CPA or working towards CPA would be considered an asset
- Proficient in Yardi software as well as Microsoft Excel
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
- Strong leadership skills and experience supporting a team
- Highly-motivated, proactive, and capable of excelling in a fast-paced environment
