The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

**Locations**

Victoria, BC or Toronto, Ontario Offices.

**Base salary range is between**

$85,400 - $122,200 CAD. Annual variable compensation tied to goal completion targets 3-8% of the base salary. Employees are also eligible.

**What You'll Be Doing**
- Work professionally with internal and external clients to support product delivery that meets their business and regulatory objectives.
- Analyze current business processes and make recommendations for improvement based on industry trends and professional business knowledge.
- Manage the business impact of systems changes, including developing and presenting user implementation training and educational materials and leading client meetings to resolve problems related to process changes and linkages.
- Design, implement, and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.
- Ensure data integrity and reliability by monitoring database systems, performing regular backups, and implementing disaster recovery plans.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data anomalies.
- Optimize database performance by performing tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
- Maintain documentation of database systems, including installation procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
- Implement and enforce data security and privacy measures, including access controls and encryption.
- Perform regular data maintenance tasks, such as archival, purging, and migration.
- Stay updated with database technology advancements and best practices to recommend and implement improvements.

You are suited to our approach and possess these attributes:

- Minimum of Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant Engineering discipline (with preference to Electrical or Electronics) or equivalent education gained through work experience.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in database management systems, such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Strong knowledge of database administration tools and techniques, such as backup and recovery, replication, and clustering.
- Familiarity with database programming languages, such as SQL, PL/SQL, or T-SQL.
- Understanding of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Experience with database security principles and practices.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server) are a plus.
