We are currently accepting applicants for a HR Administrator.

The HR Administrator is responsible for employee records, assisting with recruitment, facilitating onboarding/offboarding, coordinating payroll and benefits, and supporting employee relations. The HR Administrator will also ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws, assist in the development of HR initiatives, and maintain accurate HR documentation.

**Responsibilities**:

- Draft or amend job descriptions and post for open positions as needed.
- Draft employee and contractor agreements.
- Facilitate onboarding of employee through ADP and contractors through DocuSign.
- Ensure correct information and settings for all employees in ADP with respect to their position details, talent documents, time and attendance, vacation and time off policies, payroll and benefits.
- Provide orientation to new employees regarding key policies, ADP and OneDrive usage.
- Facilitate employee leave of absence.
- Draft and send employee temporary layoff notices and recall notices.
- Issue record of employment (ROE).
- Reactivate recalled employees in ADP.
- Draft notice of termination and complete offboarding procedures.
- Answer employee questions regarding benefits plan, RRSP contribution, and general payroll.
- Enroll and remove employees from benefits plan.
- Update ADP to ensure payroll information is accurately represents benefits deductions and/or RRSP contribution.
- Annually update dental benefits data.
- Ensure employee access to T4s.
- Draft T2125 for employees as required.
- Ensure employee access to new federal and provincial tax forms and update information as required.
- Annually ensure correct vacation and time off rollover for employees.
- Maintain accurate and updated employee and contractor records, including personal details, contracts, performance evaluations, police checks etc.
- Maintain wage data and provide relevant information to department leads.
- Complete follow ups with employees regarding expired personal information.
- Issue written notice on position change or wage increase.
- Update Employee Handbook as required to reflect changes in policy.
- Run reports on data and provide analysis on trends.
- Facilitate in providing staff appreciation materials or events.
- Additional administrative tasks to support the organization as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Business or administrative diploma or other relevant education
- Business administration experience with human relation experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with superior eye for detail and data accuracy.
- Computer literacy with common software with ability to proficiently and efficiently learn new or more complex software. Experience with ADP or other payroll/time tracking platforms an asset.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Empathetic and approachable individual able to build rapport with employees.
- Familiarity with HR best practices and general employment regulations.
- Agile thinker to troubleshoot software features as they are updated or change.
- Team player that wants to support the overall mission of Step by Step.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
