he Role: Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Assistant Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of general accounting functions. This includes, but is not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory management, and cash & bank management. The position also handles period-end duties, such as preparing financial statements, reconciling inter-company balances, performing accounts reconciliation and schedules, and assisting in internal/external financial audits.

- ajor Responsibilities: Manage daily operations of general accounting functions (as assigned). M
- onitor and analyze accounting data to produce financial information and reports. P
- erform revenue and expenditure variance analysis and accounts reconciliation. O
- versee capital assets reconciliations and ensure proper depreciation & retirement processes. S
- upport stores inventory and cash counts, and validate discrepancies and necessary cost adjustments. S
- upport period-end closing processes and prepare necessary adjustments and accruals. A
- ssist in preparing internal/external audit information and working papers. E
- stablish and enforce proper accounting practices, policies, and principles. I
- mplement workflow improvements and initiate corrective actions. C
- oach staff to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulation compliance. P
- erform ad-hoc duties and projects as assigned.

- nowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements: Possess an undergraduate degree or diploma with a major in Accounting; enrollment in the CPA program is an asset. M
- inimum of 4 years of accounting work experience. E
- xtensive knowledge and hands-on experience in AP, AR, and GL, with advanced knowledge in month-end closing. T
- horough knowledge of IFRS requirements; working knowledge of US GAAP is an asset. P
- revious work experience in the retail industry or other high-volume transaction industries is highly preferred. S
- trong analytical skills with the ability to reconcile and identify discrepancies and abnormal transactions. S
- trong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. G
- ood people skills with the ability to collaborate in team efforts to complete projects and achieve department goals. M
- eticulous attention to detail and the ability to handle complex transactions. D
- emonstrates a keen sense of ownership and proactivity in problem resolution. A
- bility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. C
- omputer literate with hands-on experience in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with Macola 10 is an asset (or training will be provided). E
- ffective verbal and written communication in English. A
- bility to communicate in Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) is an asset. E
