Blueridge Produce Inc. is a top quality packer of fresh blueberries as well as a processor of blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries for local wholesale, retail and food service markets as well as global exports. **Job Overview**:
Reporting predominantly to the Quality Assurance Manager, the QA Coordinator’s primary role is internal auditing, supplier approvals and document control for the facilities.

The Food Safety Coordinator is required to be an active participant in the Joint Occupational Safety and Health (JOSH) committee.

The QA Coordinator assists the Quality Assurance Manager in the implementation, maintenance and improvements to the FSMS's (Food Safety Management Systems) and Quality Programs

**Key Responsibilities and Requirements**:

- Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of: SQF and HACCP and be able to perform Internal audits of the food safety systems.
- Must have attended a HACCP course or a HACCP refresher course within the last 5 years
- Must be a certified PCQI as per FSMA requirements.
- Performs scheduled internal audits and mock recalls to verify the effectiveness of the FSMS
- Verifies processes are in control through environmental monitoring and product sampling & submissions.
- Completes annual validation of Food Safety Plans, GMP's and CCP’s.
- Approves Supplier’s questionnaires, Storage, Transport & Contractor Contracts. Maintains the Approved Supplier Register and Operational Contact List.
- Identifies risk level of products and materials
- May perform supplier audits on suppliers that are not able to provide proof of 3rd party audits.
- Responsible to ensure master document lists and document locations are kept current.
- Responsible to ensure that document revisions are logged and that any revisions comply with all food safety and quality requirements
- Ensures all required records are turned in, have been filled in completely, correctly and accurately and that any non-conformance's have associated corrective actions and preventative measures documented and are sufficient.
- Responsible to ensure all documentation is filed in an organized, orderly fashion.
- Performs personnel retraining when documentation or procedural errors are identified.
- Ensures all employees are following proper GMP and food safety procedures.
- Assists with Orientation or Annual training and Procedural training where necessary
- Is an active participant in the Joint Occupational Safety and Health _(_JOSH) committee
- Will be certified and maintain Level II First Aid certification

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
