**Summary**

The **Safety Coordinator **will be responsible for providing overall compliance, documentation, concise communication, coordination and commitment to Health and Safety in the Langley facility. Additional responsibilities will be to coordinate and maintain the ISO quality system.

**Safety Coordinator Duties**
- Manage the Health and Safety Program of the facility to ensure COR Certification is maintained.
- Collaborate with the Production personnel effectively for adherence to Safety and Workplace Hazard requirements
- Schedule Safety training and maintaining training records as required (eg WHMIS, First aid, supervisor training etc)
- Ensure all staff have the appropriate/required training to perform their tasks in compliance with local legislation requirements
- Conduct Safety Orientations and other safety training as required.
- Ensure all first aid certifications are maintained and meet provincial requirements
- Prepare, coordinate and complete annual safety audits
- Schedule and manage ISO meetings including feedback on Health and Safety, and plant and equipment improvement opportunities
- Ensure that all QA procedures are described in the correct controlled document format
- Chair monthly Safety Committee meetings.
- Ensure the Quality Policy Manual is accurate and up-to-date
- Generate all Non-Conformance reports, and coordinate with other departments to ensure reports are closed in a timely manner
- Liaise with Property owners to ensure the building and grounds are adequately maintained.
- Carry out inspections of Plant Equipment to ensure regular maintenance schedules are being carried out and equipment documentation is up-to-date.
- Co-ordinate and ensure regular maintenance checks of vehicles and forklifts, including licensing thereof.

**Safety coordinator Requirements**
- National Health and Safety Administrator designation is an asset.
- NCSO designation an asset
- Current Internal Auditor Certification through BCCSA is an asset.
- Knowledge of BCCSA program/processes preferred
- 4+ years’ experience in a safety related position where safety is the main responsibility
- Experience with ISO documentation and processes
- Level 2 First Aid Certificate is an asset
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the safety field
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision

**Work Conditions**
