**What the role is all about**:
At WinSport, our Volunteer Programs Team is an essential part of our operations and the guest experience. The Coordinator, Volunteer Programs ensures exceptional volunteer experiences through coordinating all aspects of the volunteer lifecycle, from program development to exit interview, ensuring a positive and impactful experience for volunteers and alignment with organizational goals.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, adaptable individual who thrives in a vibrant, fast-paced environment and who has experience coordinating multi-dimensional volunteer programs. You will be the driving element behind the growth of a thriving, inclusive Volunteer Program, and adept at building and strengthening relationships, facilitating learning opportunities and providing support to volunteers and WinSport partners.

**What you will be doing**:
- **Volunteer Engagement**: Build and maintain relationships with volunteers, community partners, and WinSport departments. Facilitate training, coaching, and recognition activities to inspire and support.
- **Program Management**: Develop strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance the volunteer experience. Manage scheduling, risk assessments, budget, and data integrity.
- **Recruitment & Onboarding**: Design and execute outreach strategies, screen applicants, and lead onboarding processes to grow a diverse and dedicated volunteer team.
- **Guest Experience**: Ensure volunteers contribute to exceptional guest experiences by modeling and reinforcing WinSport’s 4 Key Behaviours, delivering impactful interactions, and maintaining high service standards.
- **Youth Leadership & Coaching**: Support the Youth Leadership Program and mentor volunteers by identifying strengths, fostering skill development, and guiding department supervisors.
- **Handle Multiple Tasks**: Efficiently manage various priorities while ensuring quality service remains the focus
- **Prioritize Safety**: Adhere to all WinSport safety policies, ensuring a safe environment for yourself, your teammates, and our guests.
**What you bring**:
- **Experience**: Proven experience leading and managing volunteer programs, with knowledge of the Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement. Bonus if you are Certified in Volunteer Administration (CVA) or looking to obtain your CVA.
- **Organizational Skills**: Skilled in maintaining accurate records and managing data systems. Working in Better Impact is an asset. Proficient in prioritizing and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with exceptional attention to detail.
- **Leadership and Relationship Management**: Ability to inspire and motivate others while fostering collaboration and strong relationships with diverse groups.
- **Communication**: Demonstrated ability to deliver clear, persuasive, and confident written, verbal, and non-verbal communication. Comfort in engaging with diverse audiences and creating impactful presentations and resources.
- **Customer Focus**: Fosters positive, proactive interactions and prioritizes guest needs. Elevates the guest experience by actively seeking feedback, listening and creating change when needed.
- **Problem Solving and Decision Making**: Analyzes challenges to develop innovative solutions and makes sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- **Creativity**: Proven ability to contribute innovative ideas, see the bigger picture and has a strong appreciation for upholding the organization’s brand and values.
- **Assets**: Experience working in a sport or recreational environment is an asset. Experience working with youth, including coaching for performance and/or mentoring is an asset.
**Employment Dates & Times**:
- Permanent Full Time
- Standard working hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm with a one hour lunch (or equivalent) Monday to Friday
- Flexible to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the Volunteer Program (some evening and weekend work is required, with occasional overtime)
**You will be**:
- Working in an office setting, with computer work
- Event activities and outdoor volunteer activities include walking and standing
- Occasional periods of high activity depending on project deadlines and events
- Occasional lifting of office supplies, supply bins, and equipment weight 15-20 pounds may be required
