**PROGRAM COORDINATOR**
**(Full-time, 37.5 hours/week)**
The Calgary Chinese Elderly Citizens’ Association is a charitable organization established in 1985 that provides a supportive environment aimed to enhance the well-being of Chinese older adults and their integration into Canadian society.
The role is responsible for the planning, promotion, implementation and evaluation of a few key programs such as Tax Clinic and Volunteer Handy Person Program (VHPP) by confirming project scope with clients, providing quotes, managing volunteers and schedules, and collecting fees.
Volunteer Handy Person Program (VHPP)
- In charge of the planning, promotion, implementation, and evaluation of the Volunteer Handy Person Program (VHPP)
- Review requests from clients and follow-up to assess and confirm scope of project(s), provide initial job quotes, coordinate and schedule the volunteers, manage and purchase materials, and follow-up with clients on fees
- Manage expectations of clients (regarding work that can be done based on scope and liability) and follow-up with volunteers on scheduling conflicts or additional scope to ensure that schedule is maintained
- Recruit and train VHPP volunteers and work with licensed tradespeople to develop training materials and related resources
- Inspect the work of completed jobs to ensure that a high standard of quality is maintained and the requirements of the job were met Provide supervision, training, support and recognition of VHPP volunteers
- Provide support to the VHPP volunteers by responding to requests and questions and organizing networking meetings
Other programs ( Tax Clinic etc)
- In charge of the planning, organizing, promotion, implementation, delivery and evaluation of the programs
- Prepare and coordinate all marketing and promotion on both traditional and digital platforms including social media, posters and content writing if needed
- Recruit, train, engage, supervise and recognize volunteers ; assist in managing volunteers and the volunteer database system
- Develop volunteer training materials, manual/handbook and related resources, and conduct the required training to volunteers
- Provide support and assist the volunteers by responding to their requests/inquiries
- Host weekly radio show including coordination of guest speakers and script

- Act as a liaison between clients, volunteers, staff of CCECA and partner agencies
- Maintain an accurate, up-to-date volunteer database and statistical records
- Prepare reports and collect data as required by funders
- Perform related administrative duties
- Require to drive and work on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and other flexible schedules as needed
- Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time
- Degree /Diploma education in human services or related discipline
- A minimum of 2-3 years of working experience in home repair and maintenance or similar capacity and/or experience in non-profit
- Experience in project management, and working with older adults and volunteers is preferred
- A license or certification in facility management and maintenance is an asset
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin)
Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
