**Are you passionate about building community and making a difference?**
Ups and Downs - a Calgary-based non-profit supporting individuals with Down syndrome and their families - is seeking dedicated **Volunteer Coordinators** to help lead our growing Volunteer Program.

This is an **unpaid, in-person volunteer position** ideal for individuals who are organized, dependable, and eager to support meaningful events and programs. You’ll work closely with our Executive Director to recruit, support, and guide the amazing volunteers who power our community.

**What You'll Be Doing**:

- Recruit and onboard new volunteers through in-person and digital outreach
- Organize and facilitate in-person training and orientation sessions
- Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments for events
- Provide on-site support and leadership during Ups and Downs activities
- Maintain clear, ongoing communication with volunteers and staff
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and welcoming volunteer culture
- Track volunteer hours and provide regular feedback
- Identify and mentor volunteers for future leadership roles

**What We’re Looking For**:

- A **high school diploma or equivalent is required**:

- Post-secondary education in **Education, Social Work, Psychology, Disability Studies**, or a related field is **preferred but not required**:

- Calgary-based and available for in-person involvement
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Comfortable working with diverse individuals and families
- Reliable, proactive, and committed to building a supportive community
- Prior experience in volunteer coordination or event support is an asset (but not required)
- A **long-term commitment is preferred** to help us build a sustainable program
- Able to provide a **Police Information Check**, including Vulnerable Sector Search

**Time Commitment**:
This role is most active during our **event season (September to June)**. While scheduling is flexible, attendance is required for key events and coordination activities.
