The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Service Operations Manager to join our team. This position reports to the Business Integrator, and is part of our Senior Leadership Team. This person is responsible for the septic vacuum truck drivers, portable toilet service route drivers, dispatchers and plumbers. This role is mostly in-office, and is a permanent, full-time position. We provide ongoing Leadership training for all Supervisors and Managers.
Compensation: $70k - $90k per year
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading and managing 4 teams: Septic Drivers, Route Drivers, Dispatchers, and Plumbers- Developing and documenting process and procedures for efficiency- Overseeing and implementing training plans developed by department Supervisors- Ensuring cost efficiencies in fuel consumption, labour and disposal fees according to gross margin goals- Resolving customer escalations- Ensuring quality of service in all areas- Assist with technical problem-solving and customer relationships through site visits as required- Participating in quarterly and annual planning sessions with the Leadership Team for the company- Optimizing efficiency through route planning- Coaching all service staff toward identifying and tracking opportunities for company growth- Developing and monitoring team scorecard metrics
- Oversee recruitment and hiring for all teams
The skills you bring:
- Supervisory or Management experience in areas such as trucking, dispatch or plumbing- Post-secondary education and experience in a related field (logistics, project management, and/or business)- Big picture planning and effective execution skills- Advanced computer navigation skills, ability to learn new systems- Ability to work with Team Members to solve problems- Superior verbal and written communication skills- Must be able to multitask, prioritize and manage time- Ability to operate effectively in a fast paced, growing team environment- Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
