**Job description**

MCC is seeking to hire an experienced HR Assistant to support the Head of People & Purpose who supports all employees working under MCC’s portfolio of operational assets. This includes University Golf Club, Musqueam Golf & Learning Academy, and Milltown Marina & Boatyard.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but not limited to:

- Answer and/or refer employee questions about Payroll, Benefits, and Company Policies
- Oversees and supports hiring managers in full-cycle recruitment, from recruitment strategy to execution
- Supports our processes such as onboarding/offboarding, training and development, and performance management
- Provide first line support for HR and low risk employee relations queries, including notetaking and conducting face to face meetings with employees
- Prepare all employment-related letters for staff including role changes, compensation changes, etc.
- Guardian of all HR policies and processes providing 1st line response to policy queries when required
- Update and maintain our employee database and Payworks system and ensuring data integrity throughout
- Supporting on Annual HR processes including compensation reviews & career development
- Update and maintain our employee database and personnel files
- Working closely with our payroll software providing support to managers and employees when needed - Assisting with events such as community updates, staff appreciation events, training sessions. - Providing effective support to Head of People & Purpose
- Prepare all necessary payroll reports (monthly & yearly) to support both internal and external processes
- Prepare and update HR manuals and proactively communicate with all staff to ensure that all HR practices meet employment standards
- Give the guidance and advise in aspect of HR practice, labor issues, and labor laws including liaise with Head of People & Purpose
- Arrange the orientation program for new employee and provide the training of HR practices
- Responsible for accurate timely, quality inputs of the payroll data into Payworks for the successful delivery of Semi-Monthly Payroll

**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**
- **Education/Experience**:At a minimum, a diploma or certificate in human resources field. 3+ years of related work experience or a combination of relevant education and experience.

**BACKGROUND AND ESSENTIAL SKILLS**
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong time management skills
- Must be able to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- The ability to take initiative and meet deadlines; strong attention to detail
- Exceptional interpersonal skills/show empathy
- Experience using payroll software is ideal with accounting experience would be an asset
- Work in an office team environment and be able to travel to different offices when needed
- Strong Office 365 skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- An ability to multi-task within an ever-changing environment

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
