**Our Nuclear Services office in** **Oshawa**, ON, is looking for a **Estimation Lead** to join our team.

**Summary of the Role**:
The **Estimation Lead** is responsible for assisting the Nuclear Proposals Department in assembling accurate cost estimates and proposals that accurately outline the basis of estimate, cost, and schedule for nuclear power plant projects, including construction, maintenance, and decommissioning activities, while learning the intricacies of nuclear project estimation.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Collect and organize detailed information on project scope, design specifications, material quantities, labor rates, and equipment costs from various sources like engineering drawings, vendor quotes, and project documentation.
- Research through variable platforms (Asset Suite, Web Pages, Past Estimates and Projects) to develop information necessary for estimate assembly.
- Assists the Estimation Leads/Estimators in the preparation of detailed bid packages/scopes of work for applicable trades and subcontractors for their use in preparing supporting quotations.
- Assemble pricing while evaluating proposals from multiple sources.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of detailed cost breakdowns to accurately allocate costs across different project elements like electrical/mechanical systems, and Vendors.
- Perform basic calculations for labor hours, material quantities, and equipment costs using established estimating tools and software.
- Ensure the accuracy and consistency of estimates by performing thorough data checks and adhering to established estimating methodologies and standards.
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimate reports, including detailed breakdowns of project costs, assumptions, and justifications for management review.
- Actively learning about nuclear power plant design, construction processes, regulatory requirements, and advanced estimating techniques through mentorship.
- Ensure responsibilities/accountabilities are carried out in a safe manner in accordance with E.S. Fox Limited Environmental Health and Safety Management Program and OHSA requirements.
- Ensure environmental aspects within their area of responsibility are in conformity with ISO 14001 requirements.

**Key Requirements, Experience and Skills**:

- Graduation from a community college, preferably related to construction, mechanical, electrical or civil engineering disciplines, project management, or a certified trade.
- Utilizing computer software to assemble Proposals/Quotations.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and construction.
- Familiarity with project management principles, data analysis, and estimation formulas.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- 2 years of Estimator / Estimating experience is preferred.
- Able to interpret Scope of Work requirements.
- Ability to negotiate with clients and vendors to obtain optimum and profitable pricing.
- Skilled in building solid professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and construction teams.
