Estimator

**Overview**:
The Estimator plays a vital role in the construction estimating process, ensuring that projects are priced accurately and managed effectively from inception to completion. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. The Senior Estimator will lead the preparation of estimates, coordinate project timelines, and support project management efforts, collaborating closely with various stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of each project.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Estimator Responsibilities:_
- Collaborate with project managers and junior estimators to gather necessary information for accurate and comprehensive project estimates.
- Use software tools such as Bluebeam, HeavyBid, Sage, ProEst, and others to create detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
- Review plans, specifications, and scopes of work to identify project requirements, potential challenges, and opportunities for cost optimization.
- Negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring competitive bids that align with project budgets.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, and contracts for easy access and future reference.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing bid packages, ensuring timely submission of proposals.
- Perform quantity take-offs and assist in closing tenders, ensuring accurate and efficient bid preparation.
- Select appropriate subcontractors based on scope and job requirements, fostering strong relationships with trusted trade partners.
- Project Management & Coordination:_
- Oversee awarding contracts to subcontractors, ensuring clarity on project deliverables and timelines.
- Manage scheduling and ensure strict adherence to project timelines.
- Review and control documents such as shop drawings, Requests for Information (RFIs), and change orders.
- Provide updates on pricing changes to owners and track owner billings.
- Approve subcontractor invoices, ensuring they are accurate and in line with contract terms.
- Actively manage relationships with all subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring timely execution of work and resolving issues as needed.
- Chair meetings with owners and subcontractors, preparing detailed minutes and action items.
- Review site progress and cost reports, providing leadership and guidance in addressing challenges.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience in the construction or manufacturing industries with a focus on estimating and project management.
- Proficient in various estimating software platforms (e.g., Bluebeam, HeavyBid, Sage, ProEst, Stack, Procore).
- Strong planning, scheduling, and project management abilities, with experience managing complex, large-scale projects.
- Proven ability to solve problems effectively, demonstrating sound judgment and accountability.
- Deep understanding of construction processes, materials, and pricing strategies.
- Exceptional negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating project costs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with diverse stakeholders.
