**Role Description**

The Food and Beverage Manager supports the Director, Food and Beverage by ensuring efficient and effective delivery of Catering services at Events East venues and leading a dynamic team of catering professionals. This role is accountable for day-to-day operational oversight of the Catering team, including proactive planning, allocating resources, distributing information, monitoring progress, and effectively communicating.

The role is also accountable for delivery of the highest standards of guest experience through exceptional employee engagement and strong operating practices, including the development, implementation, and refinement of departmental programs, processes, and standards. The Food and Beverage Manager builds and manages positive relationships throughout the organization and exceeds client and guest expectations. All of this takes place within a framework of achieving Event East's goals while aligning with the organization's strategic mission and vision. Providing on-site management level support for events is a critical part of this role. This will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Work with Catering team to develop and implement standards and departmental guidelines that align with industry best practice in Catering Services; ensure teams are coached and mentored with focus on standardized operational performance resulting in the delivery of high-level guest satisfaction.
- Providing support, guidance, direction, and feedback on team performance expectations and development plans.
- Assigns duties to Catering Captain team for each event, ensuring all details related to set-ups, tear downs, and food service align with delivery standards and industry best practices.
- Monitor staffing levels and manage schedules, adjust schedule as required to meet event needs.
- Proactively forecast recruitment needs, participate in hiring fairs, support successful onboarding of new staff, manage required training.
- Solid understanding of collective agreements and ensuring compliance.
- Supports all strategies related to the safe service of Alcohol (per guidance from AGA).
- Management of the POS (Point of Sale) program and equipment to ensure maintenance and updates.
- All finance requirements are met in a timely manner and meet current policies.
- Oversee inventory requirements of food, beverage and equipment, ensuring appropriate levels of product is ordered and delivered to ensure efficiency in service delivery.
- Accountable for supporting the Director, Food and Beverage, with the development, implementation, and refinement of service delivery standards, including a structured training and development program.
- Track and manage time and attendance for team members; monitor and moderate overtime, sick time, and vacation time.

**Professional Requirements**
- High school diploma or equivalent. Diploma in Hospitality Management is preferred.
- Industry certification such as CFM (Certified Food & Beverage Manager) is considered an asset.
- Five years' relevant industry experience leading teams in a high-volume restaurant or banquet facility.
- Knowledge of Food and Beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
- Proven ability to effectively manage and develop projects and programs through to completion.
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration and achieving buy-ins among teams.
- Working knowledge of industry trends and understanding of best and current industry practices.

- Can work effectively in a high-paced environment with a high volume of people, short time constraints, and within established timelines.
