McMaster’s Office of University Advancement is seeking a**proactive and motivated professional to support of the fundraising activities of McMaster University.

The position will work closely with key internal stakeholders, including Faculty and Unit Development Leads, to achieve McMaster University’s development goals within NexusHealth, part of the Faculty of Health Sciences.

NexusHealth is a McMaster-based health innovation accelerator, designed to transform how the modern university catalyzes the translation of health-related discoveries to tangible new health solutions.

It brings together stakeholders from across sectors and working together in new ways to more efficiently move novel health solutions from university labs to society, where they can benefit the patients who need them.

Our ethos of co-design ensures stakeholders from different sectors have input at all stages of research, helping to shorten the pathway from ideation to implementation.

Joining McMaster at an exciting time, the Advancement Coordinator will work collaboratively with Faculty and Unit Development leads to support the generation of private revenue for a multi-year comprehensive campaign.

**Job Summary**:
The Advancement Coordinator is responsible for providing support related to donor and prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, communications and events to Pan-University development colleagues.

This position is responsible for making a positive commitment to University Advancement’s mission, vision and values, and principles: Integrity, Quality, Respect, Service, Strategy and Teamwork.

**Accountabilities**:

- Support pre
- and post-visits, strategic meetings and discussions, tours and/or events by engaging with individuals and groups for scheduling and booking purposes, developing and coordinating all communications (i.e. itineraries, agendas, meeting materials and briefing notes) and coordinating physical resources (i.e. space, technology, catering).
- Support the Director(s), Development, Faculty of Health Sciences, Manager, Donor Relations and Associate, Director(s) in day-to-day administrative operations including calendar management, expense reporting, etc.
- Support planning and execution of events, projects and/or initiatives for the Faculty or Unit(s) for a range of events related to communications, alumni relations, identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities (i.e. gift announcements, volunteer committees, prospect and donor visits, etc ).
- Support a variety of special projects initiated by fellow colleagues in University Advancement and within the Advancement office of the Faculty or Unit(s).
- Provide administrative support, as directed by the Advancement leader within the Faculty or Unit(s), in alignment to their goals and objectives.
- Monitor projects and advise Faculty or Unit leadership of project status to ensure that the necessary resources are available.
- Coordinate, organize, maintain, and provide information, implement efficient record keeping systems and use technology effectively to manage advancement data and ensure completion of all procedures.
- Support the development and tracking of results and Advancement budgets and goals by reviewing and analyzing projections and evaluations.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- 3-year Community College Diploma in a related field. A University degree is preferred. A McMaster degree would be an asset.

**Experience**:

- Requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the advancement sector, including communications and government relations, event management, volunteer management and/or fundraising.
- Experience in an educational and non-profit setting.
- End-user computer expertise is necessary.
- Knowledge of developing and managing budgets.
- A high degree of management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Extensive end-user computer proficiency.
