Conduct outreach to promote awareness of our programs and services and implement improvements that will better serve and better reach the community. Culture and Community Services is a brand new division at Seabird Island. As the leader of this team, you’ll be able to start from the ground up to develop services and programming, as well as help design your team to meet the needs of the community and surrounding area. Seabird Island We are located 1 kilometre from Agassiz, BC on the beautiful Fraser River, 120 km east of Vancouver. We have an on-reserve membership of over 1,000 people, soccer fields, baseball field, gymnasium, multiple facilities, and a fitness centre.

**What you’ll do**

**Management and leadership**:

- Provide overall leadership to the Cultural and Community Services division, including:

- Community Services: Facilities and Events, Active Living and Lifestyles and Food Services
- Culture and Heritage: Revitalization, Genealogy, History, Cultural Work and Ceremonies and liaising with the Sq’ep Committee.
- Management of direct reports which includes:

- work planning, scheduling, payroll processing and assessment of staffing needs;
- hiring/promotion, staff development, coaching/mentoring and conducting performance management reviews;
- conflict resolution, discipline and termination recommendations;
- authorizing leaves of absence;
- evaluating the work of staff and volunteers to ensure that programs are of appropriate quality and that resources are used effectively,
- promote shared team goals and collaboration among members.
- Prepare business plans, annual operating and capital budgets pertaining to Cultural and Community Services in consultation with the Director. Monitor overall performance of Cultural and Community Services against the business plan and budget, including authorization of expenditures.
