**Hours**:37.5 hours per week

**Salary**:$64000 - $67,000/year

**Duration**:One-year contract

**Position Summary**:
The People and Family Experience Coordinator at Autism Ontario plays a crucial role in strengthening relationships between the organization and the autism community across Ontario. This position is responsible for overseeing regional programs, supporting volunteers, and promoting autism awareness while ensuring alignment with Autism Ontario’s mission, vision, and values. Operationally, they will lead program development and delivery, recruit and support volunteers, and foster meaningful connections between families and resources. This is a dynamic and collaborative position that requires a strong commitment to supporting individuals and families in the autism community through meaningful programming, advocacy, and resource-sharing.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Work collaboratively with Autism Ontario staff in developing and delivering autism awareness programs and events.
- Actively recruit AO members & subscribers to AO e-news, work with volunteer coordinator to actively recruit new volunteers and build out more volunteer opportunities.
- Attend and be an active contributor to local community partnership meetings, representing the local community needs or provincial initiatives and stay updated on community resources.
- Organize and execute 3-4 Social Learning Opportunities per month
- Offer preschool/new diagnosis multi-week program and facilitate multi-week program as well as social events for adults, caregivers and families such as CARES, Ausome Moms, Rad Dads and/or other Autism Ontario programs as developed.
- Identify suitable venues, schedule activities, create and distribute marketing materials, recruit and secure volunteer support, and ensure technology capabilities for all events in assigned region.
- Ensure that programs and supports offered by Autism Ontario are inclusive and accessible to diverse communities, responsive, and respectful of families’ values and needs.
- Provide connection points & a listening ear for families to connect them with resources and others within both Autism Ontario and the community.
- Stay up to date on the autism landscape and resources available to families (including AO's workshops and webinars and services offered through the Ontario Autism Program).
- Represent Autism Ontario’s values and in a professional and respond to media request for local matters.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- A degree/diploma in a related human services field (ASD, SSW, Volunteer Management, etc.) with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience working with volunteers in a non-profit setting
- Experience in workshop facilitation, social group work/community organizing and program development and implementation
- Ability and means to travel; a valid driver’s licence is required
- Available to work evenings and weekends as required
- Lives within their (or is willing to travel frequently) to their assigned region
- Bilingualism (French/English) considered an asset
- Demonstrated commitment to principles of social justice, neurodiversity, equity, inclusion, anti
