The Cross Cultural Learner Centre is a non-profit organization, located in London, Ontario, that provides settlement services for newcomers to Canada. We are currently looking for a full-time permanent **Housing Coordinator** to join our team.
The CCLC is a great place to work and make a difference in our community. We offer full-benefits (medical, dental, travel, life and disability), a pension plan, generous paid time off, and the opportunity to do challenging, meaningful work.
The Housing Coordinator helps our newcomer clients find their first Canadian home. In this role you help with the housing search, viewing of properties, the leasing process, arranging furniture, preparing for the move, moving day and post-move follow-up. You also educate our clients on their rights and responsibilities as tenants. It's a busy job
To do well in this role you need a background in social services and great understanding of the London rental housing market, in addition to a lot of patience as you will be juggling a lot of competing priorities. The ability to speak a newcomer language is a big asset. You'll also need a driver's license and vehicle as this role visits clients and properties that may not be accessible by public transit.
As CCLC works with vulnerable clients in our community, you'll need to be able to pass a Vulnerable Persons Police Check to work for our organization.
If you'd like to join our team, the first step is to send us a resume and cover letter introducing yourself. Be sure to highlight any experience you have working with newcomers or local social service organizations and any experience working with the local rental housing market.
