District Inventory Control Specialist

Halifax, Canada Kent Building Supplies Full time

This position is based out of Halifax but requires travel to all locations within the Halifax Regional Municipality and Southern Nova Scotia.

- Lead and perform tasks related to inventory and materials management, including:

- Materials Requirements Planning
- Purchasing and Procurement
- Inventory Planning and Control
- Warehousing, Distribution, and Transportation

- Partner with the District Manager, District Sales Manager, and Store Management to address and resolve inventory concerns.
- Coordinate district-wide stock rebalancing to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Manage purchase orders and special-order items with accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor store compliance with key inventory metrics, including:

- Hole counts
- Contractor SKUs
- Top 100 SKUs

- Proven ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
- Self-driven and goal-oriented with a proactive approach.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Energetic and enthusiastic team contributor.
- Sound decision-making skills aligned with business priorities.
- Capable of solving routine problems, occasionally requiring interpretation or deviation from standard procedures.
- Clear and effective communicator, able to explain and interpret information as needed.
- Experience with Power BI and Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) is a strong asset.
- Willing and able to travel within the district as required.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation.
