**About TRCA**:

**How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team**:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Claremont Nature Centre, the Education Coordinator is responsible for the development and delivery of education programs within schools, TRCA facilities and designated outdoor spaces.
**Major Responsibilities**:
- Deliver high quality, curriculum linked, and experiential outdoor education lessons to school groups attending the Lake St. George field centre (day or evening programs).
- With direction and guidance from the Supervisor, research and develop new programs, refine and enhance existing Lake St. George education lessons and public programs that support TRCA strategic plan and corporate objectives.
- Work with other members of the teaching team to update and enhance lesson plans and delivery options and activities.
- Maintain and improve program materials and equipment. Manage equipment/supply inventories, replaces, repairs or purchases equipment for programs.
- Support facility and customer services responsibilities such as facilitating meal services and light cleaning.
- Support all camps and camp-related programming. This includes developing camp programming, supporting interns and volunteers and reviewing camp documents.
- Time management to provide for multiple group needs on a tight timeline.
- Maintain open lines of communication to ensure opportunities for trouble shooting and program progress with the Lake St. George team, classroom teachers and families of campers.
**What will you need to succeed**:
Education (degree/diploma/certifications/licenses)
- University degree in Education or Ontario College of Teachers Certification (OCT)
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C Certification
- Preference for waterfront qualifications (Bronze Cross or NLS)
Experience
- 2+ years of experience teaching within a school, camp, or outdoor education centre
Knowledge/Skill/Ability - Competencies
- Strong classroom management and teaching skills within diverse environments.
- Significant time spent outdoors leading physical education programs.
