**Primary Objectives**:
The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator position is responsible for the identification, coordination and implementation of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategies and initiatives in partnership with community organization in York and Simcoe.

**Accountable to**:
The Operations Manager and the Executive Director of the Learning Disabilities Association of York-Simcoe

**Essential Functions**:
**Leadership**:

- Assist in staff development in a manner that inspires professionalism, strong inter
- and intradepartmental communication, team building and alignment with community values.
- Foster a respectful workplace culture and champions diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Demonstrate inspirational leadership, promotes collaboration at all levels and empowers staff to be innovative decision-makers.
- Participate in professional organizations and implements best practices where appropriate.
- Participate in training designed to strengthen interpersonal, communications and leadership skills.
- Motivate, develop, and encourage staff in a collaborative and compelling manner to support the organization and its objectives.
- Manage budgets and resources in a cost-effective manner and demonstrates an ability to be creative in maximizing available resources.

**Consulting**:

- Support the Executive Director, by serving as an organizational consultant on matters related to diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Support leadership in the establishment of ongoing work in organizational diversity initiatives and outreach, objectives, and strategies.
- Partner with community organizations in York and Simcoe to develop and implement strategic plans for improving diversity at every level of the organization.
- Conduct internal surveys, facilitate focus groups, or perform other methods of data collection to create metrics and outcomes for DEI initiatives. Provide progress reports on a regular basis.
- In partnership with senior leadership, develop and implement strategies for communicating the organization’s commitment, vision and outcomes related to DEI.

**Training/Education**:

- Design, coordinate and implement annual training, education, and learning programs for staff in the areas of DEI and general professional development topics such as leadership, communication, emotional intelligence, etc.
- Work with the senior leadership team to establish DEI as a shared value and to raise awareness, competence, and action across the organization.
- Foster an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
- Maintain diversity dashboard to track and promote organizational progress in training and education.

**Community Engagement**:

- Develop, coordinate, and advance the organizations community engagement strategy in partnership with the senior leadership team and community stakeholders.
- Establish relationships and collaborate with culturally specific organizations, educational institutions and individuals interested in volunteering or partnering with the organization or broader community on DEI issues.
- Collaborate with community partners and establish relationships with marginalized communities to provide services, education opportunities and connection within the community.
- Act as a service navigator resource and referral agent for resources and social supports.

**Program Management**:

- Oversee the adult programs including support groups.
- Coordinator of Job Fit and Strategies 4 Life including facilitators schedule and training.

- Assistance to the Executive Director on administration of the programs, this includes but is not limited to: revising process, evaluation administrat
- Working with Executive Director on governance and Board of Directors administrative responsibilities
- Supporting the Executive Director on Annual Strategic Planning Revisions and General Annual Report data collection
- Abide by all the rules and regulations of the Association in existenc at the time of employment and those, which from time to time are added and approved by the Executive Director and/or the board of directors.
- Abide by Learning Disabilities Association of York region Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Regulations

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in social work, Registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers (OCSWSSW) Child and Youth or Registered Social Service worker or relevant education and experience
- 2-3 years minimum of experience that includes DEI project/process management, stakeholder engagement, and/or organizational leadership.
- Must have strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and awareness of, as well as commitment to, contemporary issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and access.
