Company Introduction: T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 33 stores across the country: 14 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 11 in Ontario, and 1 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.
The Role: We're looking for a Marketing Specialist in Communication to handle both proactive and reactive interactions with media, influencers, and the public. The primary focus will be on promoting our events, launching new products, new store opening, and community engagement.
- Major Responsibilities: Support the business with Marketing communication plan to promote our calendar events, new product launches, new store openings, and community events through owned, paid, and earned media approach.
- Work with the internal marketing team to create and execute a communication calendar that elevates corporate branding and promotes business initiatives, while effectively managing all inbound and outbound media inquiries.
- Create high-quality contents, including but not limited to social media post, press releases, newsletters, speeches, statements, presentations, video scripts etc. that in line with company’s marketing guide.
- Work with the internal marketing team, cross-department, and external agencies to develop comprehensive marketing campaign plans, encompassing all stages from planning, execution, optimization, to reporting.
- Create media materials and handle document approval and translation processes.
- Run daily media monitoring, including research and analysis of competitor and industry announcements and media coverage.
- Foster relations and liaise with media partners, influencers, associations and partners, handle requests for interviews, industry events, sponsorships, and community engagements.
- Research business, market, and consumer-specific information, and develop a resolution plan for identified issues.
- Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements: A university degree in Marketing, Communications/Public Relations, other related disciplines.
- 2 - 4 years’ experience in Marketing, Media Planning and Buying.
- Excellent understanding of social media & paid media best practices and have a curious mindset to adapt and try new formats, platforms & ways of working in North America.
- Proved experience project management and handle external media partners
- Strong English writing skills, with an ability to write for different audiences, including external and internal.
- Previous experience in writing social media content, and/or press release, speech is preferred.
- Highly organized, resourceful, and responsive to short notice needs, with strong attention to detail and well-developed analytical skills.
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken). Proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) is an asset.
- Existing relationships with key Canadian and US media in the food, consumer, lifestyle, and business sectors are an asset.
