Accounts Payable Clerk

The Accounts Payable Clerk is a key member of the Financial and Strategic Services team responsible for accurate and timely processing of invoices and inquiries for all departments in Strathcona County. High attention to detail and keen organization skills are required to ensure accurate input of transactions into the accounts payable system, along with prompt delivery and a high level of service within established timelines.
**Responsibilities**
- Verify and prepare diverse invoices to generate payments, maintaining internal controls
- Reconcile supplier account statements and follow up to resolve outstanding issues to maintain vendor relationships and meet terms of payment
- Act as a liaison between vendor and departments to respond to inquiries and provide resolution
- Respond to inquiries from departments and provide support for information or analysis
**Qualifications and Skills**
- Minimum Grade 12 education complemented with a minimum of five years related experience
- Knowledge and experience in accounting and accounts payable functions
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgement and work under pressure
- Effective time management and the ability prioritize is required
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various teams
- Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and thorough knowledge and experience with computerized integrated accounting software packages is an asset
