**THE ROLE**

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Manager, Resource Development is a key member of Habitat for
Humanity Niagara’s resource development team. An experienced **fundraising, stewardship and marketing professional**, the Manager, Resource Development manages an assigned portfolio that could include philanthropic donations, corporate engagement, community events, initiatives and partnership opportunities and is responsible for building strong and productive relationships to maximize revenue generation and brand awareness.

The Manager, Resource Development is the organization’s go-to person for community building and donor engagement.
Working with the Resource Development team, the Manager, Resource Development will be responsible for leading, implementing and executing several plans/programs to help the organization reach its strategic goals.

**Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to**:

- Develops, manages, and executes fundraising initiatives ensuring tasks are completed on time, stakeholders are consulted, and initiatives are executed to a high level of excellence within or below their approved budgets
- Is responsible for supporting all fundraising initiatives
- Manages the organization’s stewardship program
- Develops and manages fundraising initiative related budgets with revenue and expense projections, with the approval of the CDO
- Brings energy, passion, and creativity to deliver events and manage Third Party fundraising, which drive positive engagement from corporate partners and their employees
- Works closely with multiple teams to support corporate & employee engagement, event sponsorship and stewardship of donors and partners
- Collaborates with the CDO to develop the strategy, management, and delivery of all corporate development efforts to acquire new corporate partners, engage in high-level stewardship of existing partners, and enhance fundraising sponsorship
- Seeks opportunities to enhance current fundraising initiatives by securing monetary donations, gifts-in-kind, donated prizes and other supports to make fundraising initiatives a success
- Database management within Raiser’s Edge database
- Works closely with the marketing and communications team to support maximum participation and success of fundraising initiatives including digital advertising, promotions, fundraising resources, and other marketing collateral, brings a strong social media background inclusive of the ability to support online campaigns
- Manages relationships with event stakeholders including suppliers, sponsors, and other supporters
- Works cross functionally with the Volunteer Services team
- Ownership of charitable tax receipts process
- Completes a pre and post brief to include recommendations & evaluation for future fundraising initiative success
- Attend community events, third-party fundraising events and cheque presentations, as required
- Other projects as deemed appropriate

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education/Experience**:

- Post-secondary education in business, event management, communications, marketing, public relations or related field
- Certificate in development, fundraising or event planning an asset.
- 2 years of progressive fundraising experience, with demonstrated success, in the non-profit/charitable sector.
- Demonstrated leadership within a team environment.

**Knowledge, Skill, Abilities**:

- Strong interpersonal and public relations skills and the ability to cultivate relationships with and communicate effectively with all donors, partners and our community.
- Act as an ambassador throughout the community, positively representing Habitat Niagara.
- Demonstrated superior organization and flexibility within a team environment.
- Self-starter, high energy and strong independent work ethic
- Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects, deadlines and priorities.
- Ability to manage relationships and motivate others to accomplish specific tasks.
- Outgoing, positive, confident with a warm disposition.
- Experience with donor activities and stewardship of accounts
- Accuracy and attention to detail is imperative.
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Suite computer skills
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge/NXT fundraising software an asset.
