**K-12 Learning Support Services Consultant - Secondary Curriculum Focus**
**This K-12 Learning Support Services position is available September 2, 2025. This position will be renewable and receive a responsibility allowance as per the appropriate Collective Agreement.
As a Learning Support Services Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting educators, fostering student success, and advancing curriculum implementation across the system, specifically with SHSM, OYAP, College Link, Coop and Experiential Learning. This position requires a strong commitment to instructional excellence, collaboration with educators and community partners, and the integration of Catholic values in education.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Under the direction of the Superintendent of Education, the K-12 Learning Support Services Consultant will:
- Coordinate School College Work Initiatives, Intermediate, Senior and Alternative work experiences/placements, Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM), Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Programs (OYAP), Cooperative Education, and Technological Education (Tech) Programs.
- Provide leadership and coaching in the implementation of the grade 7-12 curriculum, assessment practices, and programming.
- Collaborate with system leaders to develop and implement a plan to ensure students across the system have access to diverse and engaging SHSM, OYAP, COOP, and Experiential Learning (EL) experiences.
- Establish and sustain partnerships with community organizations including college and university faculties, to enhance learning opportunities and outcomes for learners.
- Facilitate the planning, implementation, and evaluation of professional development initiatives to support effective teaching and learning, while ensuring assessment, evaluation, and reporting requirements for granting OSSD credits are met.
- Provide guidance and mentorship as part of the New Teacher Induction Program (NTIP).
- Champion equity and inclusive education initiatives across the system.
- Promote innovation and excellence in teaching and learning across the K-12 continuum.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support system-wide goals.
**Qualifications**:
- Must be qualified in intermediate and senior divisions.
- Must possess a Specialist in an area related to this assignment.
**Other Requirements**:
- In-depth knowledge of secondary curricula, including best practices in assessment and evaluation.
- Experience in SHSM, OYAP, COOP, Dual Credits, and Experiential Learning are assets.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage, inspire, and build strong relationships.
- Up to date knowledge and understanding of Ministry initiatives and directives.
- Proven leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to influence and motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and foster enthusiasm for progressive change.
- Experience in planning, facilitating, and delivering professional learning for educators.
- Excellent collaboration, coordination, coaching, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in integrating technology to enhance teaching, learning, and professional development.
- Deep understanding of cross-curricular connections and their impact on student learning.
- Experience leading school
- or board-level initiatives is an asset.
- Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and adaptability in responding to evolving educational needs.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel as required.
