**K-12 Learning Support Services Consultant - FSL and NTIP Focus**
This K-12 Learning Support Services position is available September 1, 2025. This position will receive a responsibility allowance as per the appropriate Collective Agreement.
As a Learning Support Services Consultant, you will lead initiatives to enhance students' French language proficiency and deepen their appreciation of Francophone culture in both Core French and Immersion programs. In this capacity, you will support the development and implementation of effective FSL teaching strategies, provide guidance on best practices in language acquisition, and collaborate with educators to design engaging, culturally responsive learning experiences where French is consistently used the language of instruction in the classroom.
Your will also be responsible for coordinating the New Teacher Induction Program (NTIP), a key role that supports the professional growth and development of new teachers. This includes designing and implementing comprehensive support systems that equip beginning teachers with the tools, resources, and mentorship needed to thrive in their roles. Through your work, you will help cultivate confident, skilled and dedicated teachers who are prepared to meet the diverse needs of students across the board.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Under the direction of the Superintendent of Education, the K-12 Learning Support Services Consultant will:
- Collaborate with various school and system personnel to ensure that the requirements of the FSL programs and NTIP are in accordance with ministry standards, policies, and regulations.
- Enhance student learning by modeling effective curriculum implementation in FSL classrooms and supporting teachers through job-embedded professional development.
- Working with principals and teachers you will support the development of student proficiency in French as a Second Language.
- Lead and facilitate the planning, implementation, and evaluation of professional development initiatives to support effective teaching and learning in French as a Second Language and NTIP using a Universal Design and Differentiated Instruction model (Learning for All, JK-12).
- Co-lead and model the implementation of a Tiered model of intervention including the collection and analysis of system level screening and diagnostic information to inform next steps for FSL students.
- Assist with the collection, analysis and monitoring of student progress in FSL programs, and assisting in the development of strategies and/or actions to help students meet the expected learning outcomes.
- Support the professional development of school administrators, FSL teachers and others on issues related to the acquisition of skills in French as a Second Language.
- Lead the implementation of literacy programs and training in alignment with the Right to Read report as it relates to FSL learners and NTIP teachers.
- Support educators in embedding a strong Catholic perspective into curriculum initiatives by modeling effective instructional practices.
- Oversee the coordination of the DELF.
- Champion equity and inclusive education initiatives across the system.
- Promote innovation and excellence in teaching and learning across the K-12 continuum.
- Supporting the integration of technology and innovative teaching practices in FSL classroomsPerform other duties as assigned to support system-wide goals.
**Qualifications**:
- Must be qualified in three (3) divisions.
- Additional qualification(s) in FSL.
- Must possess a Specialist in an area related to this assignment.
**Other Requirements**:
- In-depth knowledge of the French as a Second Language Ontario Curriculum.
- Strong oral and written French language skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage, inspire, and build strong relationships.
- Up to date knowledge and understanding of Ministry initiatives, directives and related French as a Second Language and NTIP.
- Proven leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to influence and motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and foster enthusiasm for progressive change.
- Experience in planning, facilitating, and delivering professional learning for educators.
- Excellent collaboration, coordination, coaching, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in integrating technology to enhance teaching, learning, and professional development.
- Deep understanding of cross-curricular connections and their impact on student learning.
- Experience leading school
- or board-level initiatives is an asset.
- Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and adaptability in responding to evolving educational needs.
