St. John’s Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full-time Veterinary Receptionist. We are a busy 3 Doctor Practice with a satellite clinic in Conception Bay South. We are looking for an individual with a positive attitude who is motivated, enthusiastic, and hardworking to maintain a quality level of patient care, focused on customer service, and can communicate and work well in a busy team environment.

The position entails but is not limited to the following duties:

- Handling and restraint for bloodwork and procedures
- Administering treatments and medications to patients (orally, topically, and injectable)
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Feeding, walking, cleaning and caring for patients
- Taking radiographs of patients
- Prepping, assisting and anesthetic monitoring for surgical patients
- Recovery of anesthetized patients after surgical procedure
- Monitoring patients on I.V. fluid therapy
- Assisting veterinarians and technicians with euthanasia and exam room procedures
- Autoclaving surgical instruments and supplies
- Laundry and general cleaning
- Maintaining cleanliness and functionality of equipment
- Ensuring the treatment area and surgical suite is kept clean and well stocked
- Preparing and dispensing medications for patients
- Maintain cleanliness of patient wards including isolation
- Greeting clients
- Answering phones
- Booking appointments
- Filing
- Billing and taking payment
- Re-stocking and selling pet foods and OTC items
- Admitting and discharging surgical patients
- Keeping reception area, food store, and exam rooms clean and organized
- Miscellaneous duties as needed

We offer compensation based on the level of experience, health and dental benefits, uniforms, weekends and stat holidays off, and a generous employee discount. There would be no emergency after hours work required as we refer our emergent/critical patients to the Veterinary Specialty Centre.

**Salary**: $14.00 per hour
