**Job Summary**
**Responsibilities**
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to food safety standards.
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to the restaurant's menu and specifications.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with management on menu development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper food handling and storage practices.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards within the kitchen environment.
- Assist in bartending duties as needed, contributing to a well-rounded dining experience for guests.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience in the food industry, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations related to food handling and preparation.
- Ability to supervise and motivate kitchen staff while fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent culinary skills with creativity in menu planning and presentation.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service times.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Proficient in meal preparation techniques specific to sushi and Japanese cuisine.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Experience working in a fast-paced food service environment, preferably within a restaurant setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a kitchen team while maintaining individual responsibilities.
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly regarding presentation and flavor balance in dishes.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and management.
- A passion for culinary arts, particularly within the food industry, with a desire to continually learn and improve skills.
- Minimum 5 years of kitchen experience
- Skilled in sushi preparation and fryer operation
- Capable of independently developing new menu items
- Able to train new staff and lead kitchen operations
- Proficient in prep and inventory management; ensures no ingredient shortages
- Able to work efficiently under high-pressure and fast-paced environments
- Maintains a clean and organized kitchen at all times
- Must hold a valid work permit
