**Job Summary**:
As a Line Cook, you will work closely with our culinary team to prepare ingredients, cook menu items to order, and maintain a clean and organized workstation, all while contributing to a positive and efficient kitchen atmosphere in one of Canada's most iconic locations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Prepare and cook menu items to order in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies before and during service.
- Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner, especially during peak service hours.
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation, adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards (e.g., HACCP, provincial guidelines).
- Assist with the receiving, stocking, and proper storage of ingredients and supplies.
- Minimize waste by practicing proper food handling and storage techniques.
- Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure smooth service.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required.
- Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude with a commitment to teamwork.
- Be adaptable and willing to take on various tasks as needed in a busy seasonal kitchen.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar culinary role, preferably in a high-volume setting would be preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent understanding of food safety and sanitation practices (Food Handler Certification is a strong asset).
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently.
- Good knife skills and attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as is typical in the hospitality industry, especially during the peak season.
- Passion for food and a desire to learn and grow.
- Experience with seafood preparation is a significant plus, given our location.
**Working Conditions & Environment**:
- This is a seasonal, full-time position, with employment anticipated from May/June to October/November 2025.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. (23 kg).
- Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, which can be hot and demanding.
