The **Communication Specialist** role at goeasy is ideal for a rising communication star that wants exposure to all aspects of internal communications. Reporting to goeasy’s Sr. Communications Manager, the Communication Specialist will drive timely and engaging employee communications through a comprehensive corporate intranet using articles, videos, and creatives. In addition, the role will be responsible for ensuring employees across Canada receive accurate, timely and relative information through managing and updating the intranet content and by creating pages as needed.

The Communication Specialist will assist with internal company events including hybrid Town Halls and celebrations, plus Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives such as volunteering and fundraising across all goeasy brands. The Specialist will also have an opportunity to work closely with goeasy’s senior leaders and gain exposure to various business partners.

**What will you be doing ?**

**Communications/Intranet**
- Write, edit, and upload internal communications to goeasy’s head office and retail-based employees on the corporate intranet using various methods, including text, graphics, and video
- Work with key partners across a variety of departments (Channel, HR, IT, Marketing and more) to create accurate, timely and relevant communications to over 2,400+ goeasy employees
- Work with goeasy’s communications leader to enhance the intranet strategy
- Own and update corporate intranet content and build new, engaging intranet pages, as needed
- Film, edit and distribute internal videos using an in-house studio

**Events**
- Help plan, execute, and manage goeasy’s CSR initiatives (food drives, toy drives, fundraising events etc.)
- Coordinate and build presentations for goeasy’s employee Town Halls
- Assist the IT team with smooth execution of hybrid Town Halls (on-site & broadcast)
- Assist with the planning and execution of company events (picnics, milestone events and more)

**Other**
- Work with social media and external communications teammates on external campaigns and messaging, as needed

**What experience do you have ?**
- Diploma, certificate or equivalent work experience in a relevant field such as Journalism, Public Relations or Communications
- 2-3 years of experience working in Corporate Communications, employee communications, journalism
- or a related field
- Experience in managing a corporate intranet, ideally Unily or equivalent, including engaging employees with the content and each other
- Ability to transform communications into visual, engaging and eye-catching creatives using basic document design knowledge and understanding
- Video editing and production knowledge of software like Premiere Pro is an asset
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Comfortable with multi-tasking and able to balance competing priorities and deadlines. Highly organized.
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently with mínimal supervision
- A creative problem-solver who is comfortable with a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication (verbal & written), customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and willingness to learn how to take your communications skillset to the next level inclusive of employee communications, PowerPoint decks, social media and more
- Intermediate experience working with Microsoft products, specifically: Word, Excel & Outlook
- Bilingual (English/French) is preferred
- Familiarity with business use of social media such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok

We offer a Flexible Work Program that provides you the ability to work** three days onsite per week**, from our Mississauga office.

**Internal Applicants: Eligibility**
- Must be in current role for a minimum of 9 consecutive months.
- Must be in good performance standing and not under any corrective action within the past 12 months.
- Should not have failed any applicable audits within the past 12 months (if applicable)
- Must have an up-to-date IGP (Individual Growth Plan)
